THE SUMMER SKIRTS

New week, new blog post! Today I wanted to share a couple summer skirts with you all, as I’ve recently become a skirt gal. I’ve always been hesitant with skirts because they’re either too short, or too “old school” for my liking. But, not anymore! Now that I know where to shop for skirts, I find myself being drawn towards them more and more. They’re perfect for summer, and can be paired with heels, sneakers, tshirts, sweaters, and so much more. I’d say the right skirt can be incredibly versatile, so I wanted to share two of my favorites at the moment.

Skirt #1

If you’ve been following along to my weekly Friday Favorites posts, you’ll know I recently discovered a clothing brand called Mango. It reminds me of H&M, but with more basics and overall higher quality inventory. This blue floral skirt from Mango is my new favorite piece in my wardrobe! I wore it for the first time in these photos, and I couldn’t be happier with the fit. It hits right at the knee, so no need to worry about revealing too much. The modest length also makes it work friendly! The waist is elastic, making it easily wearable for all body shapes and sizes. It’s also lined, so you can relax wearing it, knowing no one can see through it. I’m wearing a size SMALL for reference.

Skirt #2

The second skirt I wanted to share is one I’ve had for over a year now, but it’s one of my favorites. I love that even though it’s a midi length, the slit makes it fun, flirty and breathable! The material is a light linen and has snap closures with a tie waist detail. Unlike the blue floral skirt, this one doesn’t have a liner… so I’d recommend wearing nude underwear or a slip. Because of the high slit, I wouldn’t wear this skirt to work, but it’s so chic for dinner with heels or sandals and with a basic tank! I’m wearing a size 4.

I paired both skirts with basic tops, and my new favorite Soludos wedges, which I talked about here. I’ve become a believer in the basics, and pieces that will last longer than a few months. That’s why I invest in pieces — like these skirts — that can be worn multiple ways, multiple times, for multiple occasions. Are you a skirt wearer? Where is your favorite place to shop for skirts? Do tell!
