It’s official guys, I’ve realized that I do enjoy a pop of color, especially for summer. Bright colors were never really my thing, that is until I laid eyes on this bold, blue dress and couldn’t pass it up. I often talk about wearing clothes that bring you joy and confidence, and by adding more color into my closet, I’ve noticed more excitement picking out an outfit each morning.
With a classic tiered swing dress like this one, it was important for me to add some flare in my accessories without taking away from the dress. To do that, you’ll notice bright whites and gold accents. For a modern twist, my heels have a square toe with a ruched strap; making an otherwise mundane sandal a bit more trendy. You’ll also see the same square trend in my bag. For more visual interest, but again, without losing focus from the dress, I added a chunky chain link bracelet, a personalized pinky ring, and a delicate padlock necklace.
dress – 50% off! (lined, naturally oversized, runs TTS) | sandals (I sized up 1/2 a size) | bag (under $100), also love this one | chain link bracelet | pinky ring (mine is personalized with my initials) | padlock necklace (under $15) | hoop earrings
Even though we’re experiencing 100+ degree weather right now, the long sleeves on this dress are so airy I don’t feel myself overheating. I wore this to work, but you could add a cute sneaker or flat sandal for a more casual approach. I’m so happy I decided to buy this colorful piece, and am looking forward to adding more color into my closet! Are you daring with color, or stick with neutrals?
