STYLING A BLACK MAXI DRESS FOR SUMMER

Happy Monday, friends! I shared this black maxi dress over on IG last weekend, but thought it deserved a little more attention on the blog. I don’t discriminate against any length of dresses, but this maxi was calling my name the minute I scrolled by it. While it’s a simple cotton/t-shirt material, it can easily be dressed up or down.

Since we were going out to a nice dinner, I wanted to spruce it up a bit. To give some visual interest, and a splash of modernism, I added a leather tie belt that I found on Amazon. It’s a really close look-alike to this designer belt, for a fraction of the price. And while a chunky heel would look oh so chic, I couldn’t stray away from my classic Herme’s sandals (probably my favorite designer purchase).

dress (TTS, available in a variety of colors) | white crossbody (under $100) | belt | sandals, more affordable options here and here | sunglasses are H&M and aren’t online, but love these and these

For a more casual look, ditch the belt and add a pair of sneakers or simple flip flops. Throw your hair in low pony or bun, and ta-da! you’re ready. Would this be something you’d wear? Do you love longer dresses, or stick with short? I’d love to hear! Thanks for reading. Let’s have a great week!
