PIECES I’M EYEING FOR FALL

You guys know how much I love summer, and I’m definitely not ready to let it go just yet. But when personal styling is your job — and you’re sourcing clothing for clients almost every day — it’s hard not to notice the new fall collections slowly but surely making their way in. So, while I’m still fully embracing summer, I thought it might be fun to share a few pieces I personally have my eye on as we start thinking about the cooler months ahead.

I’ve always drooled over designer footwear, but I’m always left wondering: are they actually comfortable enough to justify the hefty price tag? I’ve read so many reviews of these YSL loafers saying the leather is buttery soft and that they don’t rub or cause blisters — which definitely has me intrigued.

And this merlot color? It’s gorgeous and surprisingly versatile, acting almost like a neutral. These are officially on my designer wish list!

Since we get all four seasons here in Idaho, I like having a variety of outerwear on hand for whatever weather comes our way. I spotted this dark brown raincoat on Shopbop and immediately fell in love. The rich brown color feels a little more elevated than your typical rain jacket, and it’s practical, too — it also has a removable hood that can be added for those truly wet days.

I recently did a massive closet clean-out of my own, and the number of sweaters I got rid of was honestly astonishing. Needless to say, I’m being much more particular about what earns a spot in my closet now — and this sweater might just make the cut.

It’s 100% cotton, comes in a ton of colors, and I especially love this rich brown for fall. The roll neck also makes it feel extra cozy without being overly bulky. I’d size up 1–2 sizes for that perfectly oversized, comfy fit.

I’m also on the hunt for a practical, everyday boot that isn’t just beautiful, but actually comfortable. I love that these have a subtle Western flare without feeling like a full-on cowboy boot, and the heel height is extremely manageable for everyday wear.

One small detail that most people probably wouldn’t notice: the shaft height is perfect. They come up high enough to hit above the ankle, so you don’t have to worry about that annoying rubbing that can happen with shorter boots. A little detail, but one that makes a big difference in comfort!

Ralph Lauren is the king of denim, so I trust him wholeheartedly when it comes to creating the perfect fit. This dark wash feels quintessentially fall, and the oversized silhouette gives you that extra bit of room to actually move and be comfortable.

I can see myself wearing this on its own with jeans or trousers, or layering it over a tee or button-down for a little extra dimension. It’s one of those pieces that feels both classic and effortlessly cool.

Last but certainly not least, this beautiful Bottega Veneta Andiamo bag in the color “Basil.” It’s slightly larger than the small version I already have, and I absolutely love the unexpected green hue. It’s such a fun way to add a little color while still feeling incredibly chic and versatile. Another one for the designer wish list!
