FEELING CONFIDENT IN A SLIP SKIRT

Slip skirts and slip dresses are very in-style these days and I’ve always veered away from them because the silk material (real or not) never seems to be a flattering material on myself. It can be really clingy, it’s not stretchy, and not very forgiving. After looking at this slip skirt from Target for months, I decided to try it for myself because a) easy returns and b) didn’t break the bank.

I started with my usual size and ended up sizing down due to the incredibly stretchy waistband. My biggest tip for conquering my slip skirt insecurity, was finding one that had an elastic waistband! I was so pleased to see the skirt fit, and fit well. I wore it the first time for Valentine’s Day dinner with a black long sleeve bodysuit and black ankle boots. As the weather warms up, I think a slip skirt is incredibly chic with a dainty camisole and flat sandals or heels. For a more casual look, I’ve seen women pair slip skirts with a graphic tee and a pair of sneakers.

I’m excited to break out of my fashion comfort zone (we all have one) and style this slip skirt more ways than one. You should always love the clothes you wear, and feel confident in them! If you have a slip skirt, is it a piece you wear often? If you don’t own one, would they be something you’d consider wearing? Xx, E
