Monday I polled you ladies on what you’d like today’s Wednesday Wish List to consist of, and winter clothing and spring clothing were neck and neck. But, considering we’re still in the midst of winter, I figure I’d focus on what we’re all wearing now. But don’t worry, if you voted for spring clothing, that’ll come soon enough!

I’ve lived in Idaho my entire life, so I’ve had some practice finding those perfect winter clothing pieces. I wish I could say that all you need to survive the winter is this, this and this. But alas, it’s about variety and a few staple pieces. I just bought this parka earlier this year, and it’s easily the coat I grab the most. It has a nice weight to it, covers the booty (which is a must for winter!) and cinches at the waist so you’re not a puffy walking box. It’s also available in ‘tall’ length, so that’s a bonus!
For those dreadfully cold days, I reach for my calf length coat. I’ve owned this for years and the extra length really does make a difference in how well you stay warm (also available in ‘tall’ length). But when I’m wanting to look a little nicer, I reach for this $50 sherpa coat — worn here. It feels like you’re wrapped in a warm blanket!
When we’re not talking outwear, I love a chunky knit to keep me warm or a classic turtleneck for layering. You also can never go wrong with a hoodie, and I love that this one is slightly elevated because of the puffy sleeves.
For accessories, I swear by these merino wool mittens and socks. I wear them for winter outdoor runs, and they’re game changers.
In terms of footwear, I’ve had these waterproof lug sole boots for 2 years now, and they live up to the hype. These suede sock booties are also waterproof and on sale (worn here). I also just got these leather riding boots for Christmas and have been wearing them on repeat!
Do you live somewhere cold? What other items would you add to the list? I’d love to hear! Thanks for reading —
