When winter reveals itself each year, it becomes a new challenge for me to find cute, yet warm outfits that don’t always involve pants. And as much as jeans hold a special place in my heart, I love a good skirt or dress to switch things up.
When paired with a good pair of tights and over-the-knee boots, you can essentially make any skirt or dress winter friendly. Topped off with a chunky sweater, you’re just as chic as you are warm!
skirt – 50% off (runs large, I’m wearing a TALL here) | sweater, also loving this and this | tights | boots are last year, but similar styles here, here, and here | bag
When styling a statement piece like this leopard skirt, I like to stick with basics varying in texture to make the rest of the outfit interesting, without taking away from the focal point. For this ensemble, I chose a chunky knit turtleneck sweater with pearl/gold detailing around the cuffs. For extra warmth, I added a pair of simple black footless tights under my thigh-high suede boots. So although a majority of my look is black, I’m playing with different textures (knit, suede, faux-leather bag) to add interest and dimension.
Do you stick to pants in the winter, or do you play with skirts and dresses? Thanks for reading — XX, E
