With many workplaces now having their employees back in the office (myself included), I thought I’d share an easy work outfit using staples you probably already have in your closet. While some offices disregard denim as “work appropriate”, a lot of offices will allow dark denim. I highly recommend owning a couple nice pairs of rip-free, frayed-free, clean dark-wash denim for work, church, or occasions when you’re wanting to look polished without breaking out the trousers. If you’re always cold, like myself, I opt for layering a blazer over a sweater; this allows you to not only stay warm, but look professional (and chic)! I paired a nude turtleneck sweater with a black blazer, another staple I’d highly recommend for your wardrobe. Blazers can be paired with trousers, denim, skirts, dresses.. you name it. For an off-duty look, I love the idea of pairing a black blazer with distressed jeans or shorts, and adding your favorite pair of sneakers or sandals — like this!

I’ve preached it before, and I’ll preach it again: basics are your best friend! I know neutrals can seem boring, but by mixing textures, prints, and fabrics, you can create beautifully interesting outfits.
